The Hollon LC30J is a new 1 hour fireproof home safe from Hollon that features composite constuction, a seamless body and door, and quality materials throughout. The safe conists of an outer solid steel cabinet, with a solid steel interior steel layer. In between is a layer of concrete-like fireproof material that gives the safe its fireproof rating. The 1 hour fireproof rating of the LC-30J is a UL listing — many fireproof safes are not UL rated, which is a much higher standard than other ratings. For example, the average wooden house fire is 950 degrees F, but the 1 hour UL test subjects the safe to an 1850 degree F fire for a period of 1 hour. During the test, the interior temperature cannot rise above 350 degrees F. This temperature is low enough to protect your papers and other valuable items from permanent damage during a fire.
Other features of the LC-30J include seamless construction of the outer and inner layers AND door, and a secure combination dial lock. The safe also features 1 locking bolt and 1 bottom bolt hole for anchoring the safe. The anchoring bolt and hardware are included with the safe. The LC-30J measures 11-7/8″H x 16-1/2″ W x 14-1/8″ deep on the outside. The interior dimensions are 7-1/8″ H x 11-3/4″ W x 8-3/4″ deep. The safe has an interior capacity of 776 cubic inches and weighs 69 pounds. All in all a high quality 1 hour fireproof safe at a very reasonable price.
