Ideal for papers and small valuables, the Hollon LC-53J is a new UL rated 1 hour fireproof home safe from Hollon. This safe features a secure combination dial locking mechanism coupled to 4 active round solid steel locking bolts. It has 1 bolt hole drilled in the bottom for anchoring the safe to the floor, and comes complete with mounting hardware. The LC-53J uses seamless construction for improved security and appearance. This helps to eliminate the weak spots (welded seams) associated with safes that are constructed using seams. The safe also uses true composite construction — it is constucted using an outer solid steel layer, an inner solid steel layer, and an in between layer of concrete-like fireproofing material. This helps give the safe its 1 hour UL fireproof rating.
The 1 hour UL fireproof rating is a higher standard than other ratings — the LC-53J has been tested to withstand an 1850 degree F fire for a period of 1 hour without the temperature inside the safe rising above 350 degrees F. This temperature is low enough to ensure that your papers and other small valuables do not suffer permanent damage in the event of a fire. By way of comparison, the average wooden house fire is 950 degrees F. The LC-53J also comes complete with a pull-out storage drawer (shelf) at the top and an adjustable/removable shelf below. The safe measures 20-7/8″ x 18-1/8″ x 18-1/8″ on the outside and 15-3/8″ x 12″ x 12-3/8″ on the inside.
