Hollon has recently introduced a new safe, the HS-510E, which is a small UL rated 1 hour fireproof home safe. It features seamless construction, which eliminates the weak spots (welded seams) associated with safes that use seams. It also features a removable shelf and 2 active locking bolts on the opening side and 2 fixed locking bolts on the hinge side. There’s an anchor bolt hole drilled into the bottom of the safe, and it comes complete with mounting hardware. The safe measures 19″ x 13-1/2″ x 15-3/4″ on the outside, 14″ x 8-1/2″ x 11-4/5″ on the inside, has a capacity of 0.83 cubic feet, and weighs 121 pounds.
The HS-510E inlcudes an electronic keypad locking mechanism. The keypad accepts access codes from 3-8 digits, and can be programmed for 1 master user and 1 user. The keypad is powered by 4-AA batteries. The safe uses true composite construction, which allows it to pass the tough UL 1 hour fireproof rating test. The UL 1 hour fireproof rating is a much higher standard than other ratings often used by manufacturers. In order to pass this test, the safe is subjected to an 1850 degree F fire for a period of 1 hour, and the temperature inside the safe cannot rise above 350 degrees F. This is a low enough temperature to ensure that your papers and other small valuables will not suffer damage in the event of a fire. By way of contrast, the average wooden house fire is only 950 degrees F. The bottom line on the HS-510E is that it is an excellent smaller 1 hour fireproof home safe that is available at a reasonable price. For more information on the HS-510E, visit the following link:
