The two hour fire rating with an overall 5.5 inch thick door with over 2.5 inch wall defense barrier. The FB-685E is 2-Hour Class 350 Fire Tested that protects against intense temperatures over 1700 degrees. Plus this model is impact rated for a 30 foot drop. It also comes with a high security glass relocker system for even more burglary protection.

If you are looking for a safe to store your precious flash-drives, floppy discs, pictures, CDs, Etc., you don’t want to look at just any regular safe. You want to check out MEDIA SAFES or DATA SAFES. The reasoning behind this is more protection for those heat sensitive materials. If there is a fire, the outside safe will be able to handle degrees up to 1832. So while the outside is burning up, the inside compartment will be able to keep the temperature inside at a cool 125 degrees, which is a happy temp for your media materials.

You’ll also notice that there is not a bolt hole, but this safe weighs 354lbs. So, it won’t be very easy for someone to just come in and walk out with your safe.

This MEDIA SAFE comes with an electronic keypad, which makes getting in and out of the safe more convenient. I would recommend the electronic keypad over key entry or combination lock because of the convenience.
