A quality safes which is kept on the floor will defiantly be passed by the thief who will look for your TV’s, cell phones, stereos, and many more things. We have to be worried about the mid level thief.
Sometimes we have to be very safe while outdoors or parties their can attack your house by keeping an eye on you by standing somewhere in corner watching you, what you do, what time you wakeup, where you go, what time you’ll be back, and after that their come on the stage and enter in your house. Safe areas are based on the people around you and locality. If you are living in isolated areas, or if the safe is located in the same area. Thieves will then have the chance to use their heavy tools on the safe at their leisure. Only heavy hammers or power hammers can break welds. Because some of the manufacturers need to make their safes esthetically pleasing as possible, welds are also polished so very well at the point that they lost a significant portion towards their strength. Weld joint can be entry point to the thief with the tools to exploit it. The power chisels can be easily cut the thinner side of the wall and backs of the many safes point.
Instrument like drills, horse power carbide saws, grinders will also do the job much easy. Still the disadvantage to the burglar using these noisy tools in home is a very noisy process. Getting into the safe with a carbide grinder would create so much of noise; it will get alerted that something unusual was happening in your home.
Many of the thieves prefer to rob the safe itself, and then their work on breaking it and open at their things in some of their location. That’s the reason it’s sure that gun safes should not be bolted on the floor. Many of the safes come with all the necessary hardware and the holes at the bottom. Be sure of any safe you’re considering does. If it doesn’t not then don’t buy it. The truth is that the unbolted safe is the weighing 1,000 pounds or more than that. It is also very easy and quick to roll out of your house by the help of materials found in the home. Broken up broom handles can be also rolled to move a safe. When robbers have their own time, they are very charged.
If the robbers come to know before the time of attack that you have a safe, they can also take a help of the mover’s dolly to make their job much easier. You should be always serious about the adding a home alarm system to be at a safe side to protect your property against the attackers and thieves. When the alarm rings at over a hundred decibels, the subject of time has been effectively removed and the thief will try to leave your property as soon as possible.
Gun safe has taken a modern roll today. It is a fact of the modern life that the gun owners have the risk of having their guns stolen. There are 3,000,000 homes which are burglarized every year in U.S.A. it’s also been noticed that the gun owners are targeted by burglars because of the gun safe, same way handguns are also sold on the street and can be used by the thief to for robbery. A doubt of the year goes by listening of somebody. Its directly has their home broken by their guns stolen. Now the Point is that what we should do to keep gun safe and other valuables?
There are lots of people out there that make their gun safes, and some of them without having exception says that’s very good product you can buy. And yes shopping for to be safe is not easy with having all the claims and counter. You should never ever forget to be safe or to keep gun safes when shopping for safe.
I’m gonna write a bit on Honeywell Safes for the next week or so..however, some of it may seem more like ranting and raving. So lets start with a bit of history. Who in the world is Honeywell Safes? I’ll tell you.
Sisco manufacturing is the liscense holder for Honeywell Safes. Before Honeywell they held the liscense to sell Brinks Safes. I’m not sure what happened between them but Honeywell has steped up and offered it name for a fee. Honeywell has also informed us that they have made a complete quality check and tour of the manufacture facility in Tiawan. (Sounds more like a vacation when I first heard about it..but who knows). Please note that Tiawan is owned by China. The manufacture standards are a little better in Tiawan than in China for similar safes.
Most of the Honeywell Safes will do just what they say they will do. If you purchase a $60 metal safe and bolt it down to your shelf. You will get $60 worth of protection. Its that whole “You Get What You Pay For” thing. None are what would be catagorised as “high security”. The 2 hour commercial safes are good protection against fire and are considered pry resistant doors. But none are technically rated against burglary. However, they do make a line of gun safes that do meet the CDOJ (California Dept. Of Justice) rating for a security container for guns. Please note that the CDOJ is a minimum type rating and not a UL type rating such as B-Rated Safe.
Overall I would rate Honeywell Safes as better than a Sentry Safe. But still would consider it of introductory level of safes for the home use or light commercial usage. Best to remeber, you get what you pay for when it comes to Honeywell Safes. If it seems really cheap to purchase….well, use your head or call who you are wanting to purchase it from to make sure its what you need. Don’t just buy it because its affordable. Buy it because its what you need. This way you won’t be dissapointed.
I have a great video for those of you that are more visual. Video link.(Be sure to scoll down and look for the movie camera. Here are some instructions on how to dial open a S & G Dial lock.
Something to consider if you’re debating between purchasing a dial safe or a safe with a keypad.
Turn dial slowly and evenly. Do not turn back to regain alignment if you rotate past
number. If an error is made, re-dial entire combination. Do not count turns. Count how many
times each number is aligned with the opening index (at the 12 o’clock position). Always view
the dial and ring straight on, not at an angle. To Open: (Refer to Figure A)
· Step 1: Turn dial left, aligning first number with the opening index the fourth time it
comes to the index.
· Step 2: Turn dial right, aligning second number with the opening index the third time it
comes to the index.
· Step 3: Turn dial left, aligning third number with the opening index the second time it
comes to the index.
· Step 4: Turn dial right until dial comes to a complete stop.
· Step 5: To relock and secure the combination lock, turn the dial to the left at least four
revolutions.
