Heaven forbid your house or apartment catches on fire. Are you prepared to keep your important information, documents, and especially pictures safe? The sad fact is that most people are not. Unfortunately, accidents happen all the time. It’s important to make sure that you have your personal belongings in a safe and secure place.

A home safe is something that every home needs. It is very beneficial in protecting personal information as well as family heirlooms. There are several different types of safes to choose from. A fireproof safe is probably the most beneficial to have in your home. They are multipurpose safes made out of thin metal with a double wall and have a fire-resistant insulating material between the walls. They provide a decent level of security since they are designed to protect important information against fire.

When it comes to securing business documents and other items of value, it’s important to utilize an office safe. There are three types of safes that are traditionally used to secure business information. Those safes are: the floor safe, the wall safe, and the in-floor safe.

While all of these office safes are effective, you need to research which one best suits your needs. Floor safes are frequently use because they are large and heavy, making them a difficult target for would-be thieves. Wall safes are ideal if you need quick access to important documents with some frequency. In-floor safes are less common because they require some floor remodeling, but they do make for very secure holdings.

My father owns his own computer consulting firm that he operates out of his home office. He designs computer software and writes computer code for small businesses. He also does troubleshooting for many of his clients.

He has a lot of computers, external hard drives, and other electronics where he stores and conducts all of his work. The 2001 remake of Ocean’s 11 is one of my favorite movies. With a cast that includes George Clooney, Matt Damon, and Julia Roberts, what’s not to like? Perhaps the best scene in the entire movie is when Danny Ocean’s team manages to empty the safes at the Bellagio in Las Vegas.

Essentially, Danny Ocean’s crew played two safes off of each other. While they were raiding the real safe, they were transmitting video of a fake safe set-up to Bellagio Owner, Tony Benedict. It is only after Ocean’s crew pulls off the heist that Benedict realizes the video he has been watching is a fake because it doesn’t have the Bellagio insignia on the floor that had recently been added. If you love comedy and action flicks with a well-rounded plot, you should definitely check out the Ocean’s 11 series.

Our family is very security conscious. We purposefully live in a gated community with the hopes that the added security would lessen the odds that our home would be targeted by thieves. Although our community has been mostly secure over the years, there has been a troubling string of robberies nearby. This made me realize that there was more I could do to protect my family’s valuables inside our home.

I decided that it was time to install a wall safe. After looking over several wall safes, I settled on a heavy gauge steel plate safe that has an easy to use electronic lock. Inside, I store valuable jewelry, birth certificates, social security cards, passports, and other important documentation. Hopefully, I’ll never have to endure a break-in, but just in case I know that important items will be protected, items that would help us get our lives back on track.

The Hollon fireproof home safes are all steel construction with UL fire rating of 1850 degrees. This line of Hollon safes are a great entry level safe for home or office.  They provide you with time against theft and time against fire.  This steel safe has a seamless body and door construction for added strength and appearance.  This safe has 2 active round locking bolts And a fixed hinge side bolt for added security.  This particular model is equipped with a combination and key lock.  This safe comes with a bottom bolt hole and bolt hardware included.  If one hour fire protection is not adequate for you then maybe the Hollon 2 hour office safe line is what you need.  The Hollon Fire and Burglary safes provide the same level of fire protection as the 2 hour office safes but with the added security of burglar resistance.

We’ve all seen it on the news or heard about it on the radio. Someone’s house burned down and they lost all of their irreplaceable and priceless family possessions. Whether it’s pictures or critical papers, losing possessions that can’t be replaced is devastating. Most people imagine that a house fire is not something that could happen to them. They’re safe with their electrical outlets, their stove and other products that generate extreme heat. Add in a smoke alarm and for some reason home owners believe their house is now fireproof.

The sad fact is that fires often do not start due to negligence or carelessness on the part of a home’s inhabitants. Even if a fire never strikes, at least you’ll have the peace of mind that your valuables are protected.
