Floor safes are designed to be installed permanently in a wood or concrete floor. Floor safes provide more security because burglars cannot carry them off. One factor to consider is the type of door that the Floor safes use. Floor safes are available with doors that lift all the way out, or with doors that swing open on a hinge. Some Floor safes have an optional drop slot, which allows deposits to be made without opening the safe. Another factor to consider when choosing a Floor safe is the type of locking mechanism used on the safe. Floor safes are available with traditional combination dials and with electronic keypads.  The electronic keypad is much more convenient than a combination lock, especially if you’re planning on getting into your Floor safe on a regular basis. Some models of Floor safes use interior steel construction with an outer body of rustproof polyurethane. This is important because of the moisture that a Floor safe can be exposed to when mounted in wood or concrete. Look for this feature if the Floor safe is to be installed in an area that is prone to dampness. There are many factors to consider when choosing a Floor safe. Be sure to consider the type of door the safe uses, the type of locking mechanism, and where the safe is to be installed. Keeping all of these factors in mind will ensure that you choose the Floor safe that best suits your needs.

floor safe

Clearly it would be ideal to keep intruders out of one’s home entirely. Alarm systems and security cameras come in handy for such purposes, but those gadgets don’t necessarily fall within every homeowner’s price range. Sometimes a heightened level of alertness and vigilance is the best you can do. But what happens if robbers infiltrate your home when you’re not around? What’s to keep them from cherry-picking all of your valuables?

Installing a floor safe in your home is one of the best ways to ensure your valuables are safe and secure. Not only will the safe protect you from intruders but many models are also effective in preventing fire damage.

The FS-B4 has a Group II combination lock. It also has a Drill Resistant hard plate. Drill resistant hard plate: This is a plate of hardened steel. Meaning that you can’t go to the hardware store and purchase a drill and drill bit that will drill through this stuff. As a matter of fact, you can’t even scratch the surface with a normal drill bit. The FS-B4 also has 1/2″ solid steel door, 1/4″ solid steel body, (3) 3/4″ chrome plated solid steel locking bolts, and spring loaded hinges.

Remember a floor safe like the FS-B4 gets its burglary proof from the door (drill resistant hard plate) and the rest is surrounded by concrete.

Safes

Good safes are key to an overall security strategy for your home or business.  A good safe can protect your valuable items from burglars and from damage due to fire.  Be sure to check when looking for a safe to make sure that it carries a burglary and fireproof rating.  Example burglary ratings are UL TL15 and TL 30 ratings, and example fireproof ratings are 1 hour and 2 hour fireproof rated.

Safes that carry these ratings have actually been tested to resist burglars and also tested under actual fire conditions to make certain that the contents of the safe were not damaged.  Also, if you decide on a free-standing safe, make certain that it is bolted down.  Good freestanding safes have bolt-holes in the bottom of the safe for this purpose.  This keeps a would-be thief from carrying the safe to some other place where they will have plenty of time to open it.

Safe

A bolted down safe can save your valuables from the devastating effects of a home burglary.  Here are a few statistics to keep in mind if you’re thinking about purchasing a safe:

-A burglary occurs approximately every 15 seconds in America
-Nearly 66 percent of all burglaries are residential, and of those, 62 percent occur during the daytime
-Most burglaries occur between 9am and 3pm - when most people are away at work
-Only 13% of burglaries are solved by police
-Only about 15% of property stolen in burglaries is recovered by police
-Nearly 85% of burglaries occur in large metropolitan areas

These are just a few reasons that you should use a good bolted down safe in your home.  Also, be sure to check the burglary and fireproof rating of the safe for an even more secure setup.

    Floor safes

Floor safes can be hidden by mounting them in a carpeted area and having a removable patch of carpet to cover the opening.  If this is in a dark closet or other enclosed area, it is quite possible that a thief entering your home or business would not have the time to find it.  And if it’s mounted in concrete, even if it is found it will be difficult to break into.  This is because most floor safes have a hardened steel top plate that is drill resistant.

Most thieves do not have the skill necessary to open a safe with a good locking mechanism quickly.  They tend to carry them off to another location to work on them.  But this is not possible if your floor safe is mounted in concrete.  Floor safes  can be bought with a traditional mechanical combination dial or with a more convenient electronic keypad type locking mechanism.  For more information on floor safes.

    Floor Safe

A floor safe is one of the best types of safe because it has a drill resistant top plate and is surrounded by concrete.  Most burglars don’t have the skills necessary to open a good safe quickly - if they bother it at all they usually carry it off somewhere else where they have time to work on it.  But this is not possible with a floor safe mounted in concrete.

Besides a drill resistant top plate, you should look for a floor safe that has a hard polymer outer body.  This will help protect the metal in the safe from rusting out over time due to the moisture that accumulates in concrete.  Also, make sure the floor safe uses a good locking mechanism, whether it is a traditional mechanical dial or an electronic keypad type.  If you are considering purchasing a safe to protect valuables in your home or business, you should seriously consider a floor safe.  For more information on the floor safe.

    Hide Your Goodies

When we think of safes we often envision a wall safe hidden behind a framed picture. But unfortunately this hiding place is well known to most burglars. Homeowners should carefully consider where to put their wall safes, and they should also think about using a less obvious floor safe.If you do plan on using a floor safe you should conceal it by placing a heavy object over it. The heavier the object you place over the safe, the more time it will take for thieves to move it out of the way. Home security experts will tell you that a floor safe is one of the best ways to protect your valuables and top-secret documents.

perma-vault-038.jpgFloor safes are designed to be secured in cement, floor safes provide protection from fire and damage. The main objective nature of a floor safe is to major robberies. It also provides super security for the personal things like jewelry, precious metals, and documents. Floor safe installations are actually more complicated and more expensive compared to wall safes. Installing floor safes you have to cut a slab out of the floor first. Then you have to dig a hole. After which the safe is placed into the hole and more concrete is poured to cover the area. This will firmly ground the safe and prevent it from being physically removed during a burglary. Floor Safes provide excellent burglary protection. Some floor Safes has options to customize your safe, such as: a drop slot in the door, depository chute, and digital keypad lock. Floor safes are under the category of composites safes. Floor safes are under the composites safes. This means they have two combination functions, to fight against the fire and burglary.
