Drop Safes

You can use a drop safe to have your employees deposit any large amount of cash they take in throughout the day.  A drop safe is nice because you don’t have to give your employees access to it in order for them to place something into it.  Drop safes use a slot on the top or front of the safe, or a rotary hopper like a mailbox, to allow deposits to be made without opening the safe.  For this reason, they are sometimes called depository safes.

Drop safes have a baffle attached to the slot or hopper used to make deposits that prevents someone from “fishing” the contents back out through the opening.  It’s a good idea to move the  contents of a drop safe to a more secure location at the end of the day — they are not very burglary resistant because of the opening for making deposits.  For more information on drop safes.

Drop Safe

A drop safe, also known as a depository safe, is a safe than you can deposit small items into without opening the safe.  They are useful if your business handles large amounts of cash or small, valuable items such as jewelry or coins.  There are a number of different types of drop safes.  Some have a slot in the top or front, others have a rotary hopper like the ones used on a mailbox.  They feature baffles on the slot or hopper to keep someone from “fishing” the contents of the safe back out through the opening.

You could use a drop safe to deposit any large bills you receive during the day — if you are robbed the thief won’t have access to them.  But it’s a good idea to move your cash or valuables to a more secure safe or the bank at the end of the day, because depository safes are not very burglar-resistant.  You can also buy combination drop safes that have a drop safe on the top and a more secure safe without an opening on the bottom.  For more information on the drop safe.

Depository Safes

Depository safes are safes that you can deposit small items into without opening the safe.  Some have a slot on the top or in the door, and some have a rotary hopper like a mailbox.  They represent the best way to handle large amounts of cash or small valuables that your business may deal with throughout the day.  You can have your employees deposit large bills or small valuable items such as jewelry or coins at various times throughout the day - and you don’t have to give them access to the safe to do it.

It’s a good idea to move the contents of depository safes to a more secure location at night.  This is because of the opening for depositing items, a depository safe is not as secure as, say a burglary rated safe with a TL 15 or TL 30 burglary rating.  Depository safes do have a baffle attached to the opening, however, to  keep someone from “fishing” the contents back out through the opening.  For more information on depository safes.

Depository Safe

A depository safe is a safe that allows cash or other small, thin objects in envelopes to be deposited into the safe without having to open it.  They usually have a slot on top, or a rotary hopper like on a mailbox for making deposits.  These slots or hoppers have baffles in them to keep someone from “fishing” the contents back out through the opening.

Depository safes are useful for periodically depositing big bills if your business handles a lot of cash.  They’re also useful in retail settings such as a jewelry store or coin shop, or any business where you deal with small items with a high value.  They’re available in a wide variety of sizes and shapes, and with a variety of locking mechanisms used to grant access.  For more information on the depository safe.

Drop Safes

Drop safes are designed for temporary storage of cash and other small, valuable items (such as checks, jewelry placed in small envelopes, etc.).  They provide both convenience and security.  You do not have to enter the combination of a drop safe in order to store something in it - it has a slot or a hopper that is used to “deposit” the item.  This opening has baffles that keep someone from “fishing” the contents of the safe back out through the opening.

You could, for example, have the operators at your retail establishment deposit all cash bills over a certain amount (say over $20) into a drop safe.  Then if someone robs your establishment, as long as the attendant does not have the combination to the drop safe, your cash will be safe.  You could also place a sign in the window stating that the attendant “has no bills larger than $20″, thus saving a would-be robber from even trying the robbery to begin with.  For more information on drop safes.

Drop safe

If your business handles large amounts of cash or small valuables during the day, you may want to think about using a drop safe.  These special safes have a slot in them that allow you to drop items into them without gaining access to the inside of the safe.  You could drop cash into a drop safe at various times during the day for safekeeping.  Or anything small enough to fit through the opening (jewelry in envelopes, for example).  This allows you to restrict access to the cash or valuables during the day, and then you can move them to more secure storage at night.

If you use a drop safe to handle large bills, a drop safe could save you a great deal during a hold-up.  If the operator doesn’t have access to the drop safe then neither will the thief.  The same is true for small valuables.  A drop safe is also much more convenient than a regular safe - you don’t have to enter the combination every time you want to put something into it.   So if you’re not already using a drop safe, think about getting one for your business.

Depository Safe

If your business handles a lot of cash or small valuables during the day, a depository safe could help simplify storage of these items as well as add security to the way they are handled.   A depository safe is one that allows you to make deposits of small to medium sized objects without gaining access to the inside of the safe.  This means that your employees could have access to place items into the safe, but not take them out.  And your cash and other valuables would not be easily accessible  during an in-store robbery.  You could use a depository safe to store cash and valuables during the day, and then place them in a more secure safe or in the bank at night.  A depository safe could well save your business a good deal of money over time.  For more information on the depository safe.

DS-1K-x-depository-safeFor businesses that usually deal with daily cash transactions, it can be a security threat to have a lot of cash on hand. It can also be difficult for employees to monitor the daily cash flow. The use of a depository safe can help deter any robbery and keep an inventory of the sales and expenses.

It keeps the cash in a safe place and can even keep track of the money released. Depository safes are easy to use and relieve the staff of unnecessary accounting. This is one silent but efficient helper.
