Electronic safe

An electronic safe is one that uses an electronic locking mechanism to grant access to the safe.  They are much more convenient to use than a traditional mechanical combination dial.  There are basically two types of electronic safes - electronic keypad and biometric.  The electronic keypad type uses a keyad like the ones on ATM or debit card machines - you enter the combination (PIN number) on the keypad to open the safe.  Multiple users can be given different PIN numbers and some models allow you to track who opens the safe and when.

The biometric type of electronic safe uses a fingerprint scanner to open the safe - you simply place your index finger on they keypad and if it’s a match, the safe opens.  This type also allows you to grant access to several users simply by scanning their fingerprint. Be sure to check the burglary and fire rating on the electronic safe you are considering, as not all safes are rated.  Electronic safes are available in all sizes and shapes for a variety of purposes - their are special media safes, gun safes, depository safe, and burglar and fireproof safes.  For more information on the electronic safe.
